Originally from Iran, I moved to the UK at 18 to continue my education and build a safe and independent future. My academic journey began with an undergraduate degree, followed by postgraduate study in International Relations and Diplomacy, then Law, before undertaking doctoral research in Political Economy, which I pursued for five years. This path shaped my perspective on leadership, equity, and the structural barriers that can affect opportunity.
During the Covid period, I made the decision to pivot my career and move into HR, driven by a desire to make a direct impact on people’s working lives. Since entering the profession, I have progressed from HR and Procurement Coordinator to Associate Director – People Operations within five years, building my career in the facilities management sector, a traditionally male-dominated industry.
As a woman of colour rebuilding my career in a new country and industry, I understand how powerful mentorship, visibility, and opportunity can be. I was fortunate to be supported by exceptional female leaders early in my career, and their mentorship shaped the leader I strive to be today.
I am passionate about championing women in the workplace and helping create environments where women feel seen, supported, and empowered to progress and lead.
