
Dr. Armin Mustafa is an award-winning AI researcher with over 10 years of experience pioneering advances in digital technologies. She currently serves as an Associate Professor at the University of Surrey’s Center for Vision, Speech and Signal Processing (CVSSP) and holds a prestigious DSIT AI Fellowship with the UK Government. Her work has led to the publication of more than 50 papers in top-tier venues like CVPR and ICML.
Armin’s expertise spans artificial intelligence, machine learning, and computer vision. Her career is defined by a unique blend of high-impact academic research and commercial success. She is the Co-Founder and Chief Scientist of SAIReco Ltd., which leads the development of intelligent video description. Her contributions to the field have been recognized with numerous accolades, including the NOVI Academic Leader of the Year and the Tech Women 100 award in 2025. She is a Fellow of the Higher Education Academy and a dedicated STEM UK Ambassador, frequently serving as a judge for “STEM for Britain” at Parliament. Armin holds a PhD in Computer Vision from the University of Surrey and a Masters from IIT Kanpur.
