Alison Ure | Hermes Investment Management

In 2012 Alison was instrumental in setting up the first corporate volunteering programme at Hermes Investment Management, whilst continuing in her role as support to the European Equities team. She has worked tirelessly since to find a range of volunteering opportunities for Hermes staff within the local community and in September 2015 she fulfilled her ambition to become Hermes’ first dedicated Corporate Citizenship Programme Manager, overseeing all CSR activity within the organisation. As well as Community Volunteering, this includes Diversity and Inclusion, Environment, Staff Social Events and the Hermes Charity of the Year. Alongside her work within Corporate Citizenship, Alison is currently working with Blueprint for Better Business and BiTC to further expand Hermes’ ongoing commitment to Corporate Responsibility.

Alison’s passion to drive community engagement stems in part from the work of her late mother, who was a highly respected Race Equality Campaigner and a true inspiration to Alison.

Alison graduated in French from Newcastle University and lived and worked in Luxembourg for 5 years before moving to London.

Isabel is responsible foroverseeing fund research, selection and due diligence and more broadly, the integration of environmental, social and governance factors into the research process.

She has extensive experience of fund research and the development of appropriate systems and processes for multi-manager investing. She played a central role in the development of Standard Life Investment’s multi-manager proposition in 2010 and the establishment of Standard Life Wealth in 2008. Prior to this, she worked at ABN Amro Private Bank and an SRI consultancy.

Isabel has an MSc (Distinction) from the London School of Economics and a BSc (Hons) from Durham University. Isabel holds the IMC and is a CAIA charterholder.

Serena is an Investment Data Analyst within Vanguard’s Investment Management Group. She is responsible for analysing and maintaining accurate investment data for the Equity and Fixed Income Groups. Serena joined Vanguard in 2013 and has worked in the Retail Investor Group and Financial Advisor Services, both in the U.K. and U.S., before joining the Investment Management Group. She is a committee member of Vanguard’s Women’s Initiative for Leadership Success (WILS) and Head of Events for WILS Europe. Serena holds a First Class Honors degree from the University of Leeds.

Jamie Tolentino-Deludet currently works at Investec Asset Management's London office within the Central Marketing team. She takes care of the web and development needs of IAM's main website globally as well as SEO, PPC, UX and analytics. Previously, she was responsible for digital campaigns in the Americas, Europe, Australian and Asian regions. She blogs on the Huffington Post UK and writes for The Next Web as well as Adobo Magazine. Previous roles include being an Innovation Strategist and Junior Engage Strategist at Quirk London after completing a BSc Psychology at University College London (UCL).

I have worked in banking and insurance for the last ten years.  Barclays has given me great opportunites including traveling to and working in India and is also the place I met my soon to be husband. I have a two year old daughter who keeps me on my toes. Since having Aimee the way I want to be seen in the world has changed, I have taken up running and challenge myself to be a fit healthy role model. Working in a department surrounded by excellent female role models I feel empowered to show my daughter that with the right tools and attitude we can do anything we set our minds to.

Sarah Hudson

Sarah Hudson, CFA, Vice President, is a product strategist for BlackRock’s Global Equity Platform. She provides an essential link between the sales teams and the Portfolio Managers and is responsible for strategic plans for business development.

Sarah joined BlackRock in 2012, having previously worked in Investor Relations at a multi-strategy Hedge Fund. Sarah started her career as a Fundraising Consultant, and spent a year as Fundraising Manager for a London sports charity working with young people across the capital. Sarah earned an MSc in Sociology and a BSc in Experimental Psychology, both from the University of Oxford.

Sarah is a proud member of BlackRock’s Women’s Initiative Network (WIN) and is co-chair for the ‘WIN on Campus’ programme, focused on increasing diversity among BlackRock’s graduate population.

Sarah enjoys spending time with friends and family and exploring London’s parks with her two dogs.


 


Katie Trowsdale

Katie joined Standard Life Investments in July 2011 as an analyst providing research across various asset classes. In October 2012 Katie took over as deputy Fund Manager on the MyFolio Range and responsibility for a large segregated client. Prior to joining SLI, Katie was part of the Multi-Manager team at Gartmore. She joined Gartmore from Kleinwort Benson in 2007 where she was a private client portfolio manager and deputy fund of funds manager. Katie started her career at Heartwood Wealth in 2000 as a trainee portfolio manager. She holds a BSc in Economics and Management with German from Southampton University, the Securities Institute Diploma and the IMC.


 


Jane Kotchkina

Jane joined Towry in November 2015 and is an Investment Manager responsible for long only Fixed Income fund selection. Prior to this she worked at Citi Private Bank where she performed Fixed Income fund research catering predominantly for EMEA and Middle Eastern clients.

Jane began her career in 2007, as a trainee analyst carrying out quantitative and qualitative fund research across a number of equity sectors at TilneyBestinvest Brokers. She subsequently moved to Kleinwort Benson Private Bank to perform equity fund selection.

Jane has a BA(Hons) in Business and Financial Economics from Staffordshire University and an MSc in Quantitative Finance from the University of Westminster.

In her spare time Jane trains Brazillian Jiu Jitsu, competing around the UK and internationally in ‘females over 30’ category and promoting sports to women of all ages. Jane also enjoys riding her horse and running with her dog.


 


Ebru Smith

Ebru Smith was born in Ankara, Turkey. Daughter of a Turkish diplomat, she travelled through Middle East during her childhood. Ebru studied Economics at University of East London and started her career at Bloomberg as a Fixed Income & Equity Analyst covering Turkey.  She worked as an Economic Assistant at the British Embassy in Ankara for a year before she joined Schroder Investment Management in London as a Client Service Manager, looking after institutional pension fund clients. She worked at Reliance Mutual Insurance Society in Tunbridge Wells in Kent for nearly ten years, co-managing a UK equity portfolio and balanced managed portfolios. She is now working as an Investment Analyst at Duncan Lawrie in London, covering UK equities, Asia Pacific, Japan and EM collectives and contributing to strategy and asset allocation.
