Hannah Waddington

Hannah Waddington | Carillion

 HR Advisor | Carillion

I’m really thrilled to be nominated for such a great award. I appreciate that my efforts throughout my career so far have been recognised and believe that this award could really benefit many other women within my industry.

I decided after leaving college that I wasn’t going to go to University and wanted to focus on building a career as soon as possible. I started in the company on the helpdesk as a Customer Services Representative. After being put at risk of redundancy after two and a half years in 2014, I decided to apply for a HR Administrator role within the company where I was successfully redeployed. It quickly became clear to me that I really enjoyed the world of HR and that this is what I wanted to embark on as a career. Within six months I was promoted to a HR Assistant and I decided I wanted to get my CIPD qualification in HR in which the company kindly sponsored me for and supported me in. I studied for my level 3 CIPD qualification part-time whilst working full-time which has been tough however now it is completed I can’t wait to start the next level! Six months ago I applied for the role of HR Advisor within the team I worked in and was successful, I now look after and advise seven contracts across London and am really enjoying the different challenges along the way and learning and improving every day.

I’m especially pleased to have been shortlisted for this amazing award at the age of 24 at the start of my career as I have ambitions to become a great role model for other young women.

Senior Client Relationship Manager | Huxley Banking & Financial Services (SThree)

Having grown up in Northern Ireland in the 1980's/90's, I moved to London in 2012 to begin my career at Huxley Banking & Finance Services, a trading division of SThree, having fallen into recruitment through a friend’s referral. I am a Law graduate, and although I realised it wasn't the career for me, I’ve been lucky to live and work in various locations globally, gaining invaluable experience that would enable me to build a career.

In my spare time, I love to read fictional crime novels, travel, go to HIIT classes, spend time with family and friends and raise money for charities close to my heart, including MS Society.

I love working with people and as a Client Relationship Manager, I am ambitious; operating at a strategic level, solving problems and thinking of innovative ideas to propel us further in a highly competitive marketplace. I strive to be at the top of my game and demonstrate impeccable client service as I manage one of our largest accounts.  Key Account Manager | Huxley Banking & Financial Services (SThree)

I’m a Kings College London Hispanic Studies graduate, fluent in Spanish, who very much fell into the crazy world of recruitment, as most of us do! I’ve worked for Huxley Banking & Financial Services, a trading division of SThree for eight and a half years now, and it’s certainly been a rollercoaster ride. As a hands on technology recruiter for six of these years, I went through many ups and downs experiencing a boom and a recession in the space of 18 months. I now manage two of Huxley’s largest accounts, overseeing 60 consultants on a daily basis, which comes with many challenges. I thrive on stressful, high-pressure situations and helping others – I wouldn’t have it any other way! In my spare time, I’m constantly try to beat my 10km and half marathon PBs for various charities; I’m currently fundraising for Prostate Cancer UK to support my lovely grandad who is fighting this disease. In a nutshell, I’m honest, loyal & hardworking.
