Rising Stars in Consultancy 2016

WeAreTheCity are proud to announce the winners of their Top 100 Rising Star awards. The Rising Star awards were introduced to showcase the UK pipeline of female talent below management and to create female 100 role models across 20 different industries and professions. The awards also included a new category in 2016 which celebrates the efforts of senior individuals who champion gender equality both within and outside of their organisations.

The awards were entered by 850 individuals were judged by a panel of 21 independent judges. Over 28,000 public votes were received for the 200 shortlisted nominees from across 110 countries. The awards were kindly sponsored by Barclays and supported by AON, Bloomberg, Cancer Research UK (Women of Influence), The University of Chicago Booth School of Business, Executive and Personal Assistants Association, EY, Keir, Lloyd’s, ISS, Morgan Stanley, Newton Investment Management, Oliver Wyman in partnership with UN Women National Committee UK, PA Consulting, PedalSure, PwC, Reed Smith, Societe Generale, Twenty Recruitment, Virgin Media Business and Worldpay.

Amber Rosier


After six years of working with NGO’s to advance human rights, I joined Accenture in 2015. Since then, I have worked with senior government officials across several departments to drive forward our clients’ transformation agendas.

Currently, I am leading the UK government’s first implementation of the Scaled Agile Framework; a radical delivery lifecycle redesign which will transform the operational model of a 180 person programme.

Alongside my primary role, I am also defining the requirements to re-engineer a government system which raises £34bn in revenue for the Exchequer. I love the challenges that consulting brings, and am dedicated to driving innovation throughout our client’s business.

Beyond my core client role, I am proud to champion the agenda for women and inclusion and diversity in the workplace; steering mentoring schemes to proactively develop opportunities for my colleagues across the company, and leading the Accent on Enablement team in Health & Public Service. Outside of Accenture, I continue to support the child rights NGO I founded as an active Trustee.

Cynthia Yoon


Cynthia is an Analyst at KPMG where she leads a workstream in a project that develops global tax reporting tools for financial services clients across the world. She is also heavily invested in business development. Cynthia founded a team of over 20 colleagues to develop geospatial analytics and visualisation solutions. She actively reaches out to potential partners and clients, cultivates talent within the firm, and serves as the subject matter expert.

As a Diversity Champion, Cynthia engages her colleagues in discussions on diversity and inclusion. Her colleagues describe her as a passionate and inspiring leader.

Outside of KPMG, Cynthia runs an anti-street harassment campaign and an online community that provides sexual education for youths across the sexuality spectrum. She is also producing a short film that explores international adoption and single motherhood in Korea. Cynthia is committed to building a more empathetic world.

Hannah Selby

Weston Williamson + Partners

I am a Bid Manager in the Integrated Transport Division of Mott MacDonald. I have worked in the Company for ten years starting in a technical transport planning role and moving into project management and business development over the years. In my current role I manage and support a variety of bids across the division ranging from international airport developments to local UK based public transport schemes.

I am the co-chair and founder of Advance, Mott MacDonald’s UK Equality, Diversity and Inclusion network. The network was launched in 2014 and covers all areas of EDI in the UK such as Gender, Race, LGBT, Disability, Age and Parents & Carers. As operation lead in the network I work with the strategic committee, 10 regional champions and staff to deliver its aims and objectives.

Helen Campbell


Helen is a programme management specialist at PwC working in the Industrial Products industry sector.  She has overseen significant growth of a programme management team in this sector since joining PwC in 2010. 

She co-founded PwC’s LGBT employee network, [email protected], sits on its leadership team. She launched [email protected] Foundation which brings together all the work the network does for the community. She acts as a visible lesbian role model in the organisation as someone from Northern Ireland, she has been most proud of helping to launch [email protected] in Northern and the Republic of Ireland over the last 12 months.

Jennifer Curtis

ZS Associates

Jennifer is a Business Consultant at ZS, focused on Marketing and Customer Insights (CI). Since starting in 2009, she has been promoted three times, taking on leadership roles in pushing innovation in the ZS European Marketing & CI practice area and managing this work for the largest client in Europe. Prior to ZS, Jennifer worked in marketing & communications strategy for healthcare and medical device firms.

Jennifer’s passion is in human behaviour and psychology, which naturally lead to her interest in marketing. She received an MSc in Organizational Behavior and Social Psychology from the London School of Economics, and a BA in Economics from the University of New Hampshire.

While at ZS, Jennifer has actively worked to support junior women, driving the London Women’s Leadership Initiative, aimed at attracting, retaining and promoting women to take on leadership roles. She has led the development of a programme geared at empowering women and raising organisational about the benefits, challenges and steps to achieving diversity.

Outside of working, Jennifer has a passion for travel, previously living in Dublin, Madrid and New Zealand before moving to London nine years ago. Jennifer is a certified yoga instructor, Pilates enthusiast and occasional marathon runner.
