The Times and The Sunday Times are thrilled to once again support this year’s Rising Star Awards. With gender politics and female empowerment dominating our headlines, supporting women in the workplace remains important to our readers, as well as an important strand of the journalism we create.

We believe that by raising up those at lower levels, we are creating tomorrow’s leaders and these awards’ help shine a spotlight on the tremendous work being achieved in the female pipeline. We look forward to celebrating the brilliant female talent that this year’s awards will discover.

RISING STAR AWARDS

Now in their fifth year, the Rising Star Awards are the first to focus on the achievements of women below Senior Management or Director level – representing the female talent pipeline and the next generation of future leaders.

The awards also recognise the efforts of senior leaders who are championing gender equality, as well as putting the spotlight on a “company of the year” that is actively supporting its female talent pipeline above and beyond industry norms.

Over the past four years and with the support of leading organisations, WeAreTheCity has been able to highlight the achievements of over 450 women (350 in the UK, 100 in India) through the Rising Star Award’s process.

A shortlist of ten women from each industry category and ten from the Champion category, alongside three shortlisted companies for the Company of the Year award, will be chosen by an esteemed panel of judges. Once the shortlist is announced, we will also open the public votes of support, which enables individuals to show their support for a specific shortlisted individual.

All winners will be announced in July 2019 at a prestigious evening reception at The Landmark Hotel, Marylebone, London. Tickets will be available to purchase via the Rising Star website.
